Two plies are twisted tightly together to produce a very soft and springy yarn. This yarn is slightly plumper than our Merino Sock yarn (which has 4 plies) and just as soft. The 2 plies make the yarn slightly bumpy which helps the strands of yarn hold together against each other making it great for colourwork and lace work. The extrafine merino wool makes this yarn luxuriously soft and bouncy for next to skin comfort. A little nylon is added for extra durabilty. The main factor determining the quality of merino wool is its softness which depends upon the fineness of the fibres. Extrafine merino results in a supersoft yarn that feels gentle against the skin. This yarn is so versatile and can be used for any next to skin project (scarves, jumpers etc) as well as items where a little more durability is required such as socks and gloves.

2.5 - 4mm (US 1.5 - 6) and C-G Hook

28sts x 36 rows over 10cm/4 inches on 3.25mm (US 3) needles

Care Instructions:

Hand wash using a wool detergent, ideally below 30°C, avoid wringing and twisting. Dry flat out of direct sunlight, do not spin or tumble dry.
